Self-published book nominated for thriller award

"It's no longer an either/or world. It's both and why the heck not?" -- James Scott Bell

Digital Book World reports that James Scott Bell (pictured), bestselling thriller author, recently became the first finalist for an International Thriller Writers (ITW) Award with a self-published work.

“It’s no longer an either/or world,” Bell says, whose career includes both traditionally published books and self-published titles. “It’s both/and and why-the-heck-not?”

Bell’s novella, ONE MORE LIE, was one of the top five picks in the ITW short fiction category. ITW allowed Active Members to submit self-published work for the first time in the 2012 awards competition.

Bell, a well-known writing coach, is the author of thrillers including TRY DYING (Hachette) and DECEIVED (Zondervan). Under the pen name K. Bennett, he also writes the Mallory Caine zombie legal thrillers, published by Kensington. As a self-publisher he writes novellas and short stories and is currently putting out a backlist of historical mysteries.

Bell is also the author of the ebook, SELF-PUBLISHING ATTACK! THE 5 ABSOLUTELY UNBREAKABLE LAWS FOR CREATING STEADY INCOME PUBLISHING YOUR OWN BOOKS.

When the victim of a corporate scam finds himself deep in hostile Africa, his discovery of a rare-earth mineral sparks a chase for evil riches; greed and lust must be overcome to keep an arcane tribal secret from revelation.

The catalyst is a corporate fraud. An innocent man on the run where danger of every kind lurks – and where brutal love joins a pair of fugitives in a quest to hide a shocking discovery from being exposed to corruption and greed.
An exciting thriller with lots of twists and turns in a forbidding landscape.

Sounds like great movie material. Is this a review? Or are you the author? If the latter, I would love to interview you on this blog.
