Low key response to iBookstore development

iBooks now integrated into iTunes

Nate Hoffelder comments on The Digital Reader that the news nearly passed him by.

iBookstores is now accessible fhrough iTunes.  As he remarks, "It's a small detail, but it's going to have major consequences."

Up until this new development, there was nothing like a listing of iBookstore holdings on the web.  There was no way of hunting down the title you wanted, to find out if they held it or not.

It was like a library without a catalogue, or Amazon without a search box.

Now "Books" has been added to the iTunes menu header.

"It took Apple 15 months to figure out that they needed to do this, and it's finally happened."

Comments, however, are uniformly blah.  "I haven't really come across a reason to buy from iBookstore," confesses one reader.

Same authors, same titles, same prices.  Why bother?
