TUPAIA, THE REMARKABLE STORY OF CAPTAIN COOK'S POLYNESIAN NAVIGATOR will be published early this coming year by LOCUS PUBLISHING, Taiwan.
It will be a featured book at the Taipei International Book Exhibition (TIBE) in February, where New Zealand is the honored guest and theme country.
Back in July, a new era of collaboration between Taiwan and New Zealand was ushered in, one that will lead to not just more trade between the two countries, but also to a lively collaboration in the arts -- book publishing and film production in particular.
As the press release announced, "The Ministry Of Culture, supervisor of the TIBE, will join hands with the Publishers Association of New Zealand (PANZ), Creative New Zealand, and the New Zealand Commerce and Industry Office (NZCIO) in Taipei on this special event, introducing New Zealand's core value of diversity to a wider audience. This event will highlight the distinct features of Maori culture and oral literature and seek to effect intercultural exchange with Taiwan's aboriginal community while showcasing New Zealand's unique attributes."
What fun that Tupaia will be a part of it!
