The Girl from Baghdad
Italian journalist Michelle Nouri, whose father was Iraqi, had a privileged upbringing in pre-war Baghdad. Known for her beauty, she befriended the infamous Uday Hussein, whose father was Saddam.
The outbreak of war forced Nouri to flee to Prague with her Czech mother and two sisters. She created a career in the Italian media, and last year published a memoir, The Girl from Baghdad.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, she is in Aus on a book tour.
