That makes my eyes water ... and my face turn green

What is even more amusing is that quite a few of the names are utterly unknown to me. Do you remember the days when people used to eagerly await a new book by a favourite author -- with my parents it was Neville Shute, Leslie Charteris, Jack Higgins, and later on there was Desmond Bagley and Hammond Innes. As my brother (an avid reader) was saying, there is absolutely no author nowadays whose books are eagerly awaited.
